Khandaker Ruhama Amin, a Level 4, Term-1 student of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (URP), BUET, has been awarded 3rd Prize in the competition "টেকসই নগর পরিকল্পনায় তারুণ্যের ভাবনা - ২০২৬", organized by the Urban Development Directorate (UDD). The Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works presented the award at the World Habitat Day 2026 celebration. Her winning idea, “NagarBasha: An Integrated Multi-Stakeholder GovTech Platform for Affordable Housing, Rental Transparency & Urban Property Governance,” proposes a unified digital platform connecting tenants, landlords, City Corporations, and utility and safety agencies such as DESCO, DWASA, Titas Gas, and the Fire Service. At its core is a Housing ID (HID) linked with municipal property records. The platform also includes fair-rent estimation, verified property information, GIS-based housing intelligence, digital rental agreements, and utility and safety verification. It aims to improve rental transparency, activate vacant housing stock, strengthen property governance, and enhance municipal revenue collection. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ruhama on this achievement!
