URP Students Won Hult Prize at BUET-2024

𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐧 (Level-2/ Term-II) and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐍𝐮𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚 (Level-2/ Term-II) from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (URP), BUET, alongside with their teammates Mr. Md. Rakibul Islam Rafi (Department of EEE, BUET) and Ms. Samia Masud Momo (Department of Marketing, Dhaka University) won the ‘Hult Prize at BUET-2024’ competition. Their team, ‘Pina-Tex Wear’ claimed the championship with a groundbreaking idea to replace cotton use in RMG sectors with sustainable and eco-friendly Pineapple Leaf Fiber (PALF). Their creative endeavours have resulted in the production of eco-friendly items such as Pina-Tshirt, Anaboti Saree, and Anaboti Urna, showcasing the practicality and scalability of the solution. The competition was organized at BUET in association with BUET EDC (BUET Entrepreneurship Development Club), sponsored by Brilliant CloudIn. In the first round of the competition, 47 promising teams participated. The top seven (07) teams competed in the final round on 13 December 2024. The winning team will represent BUET at the regional rounds of the Hult Prize competition. Our prayers and best wishes are with them.
