Academic Biography

I completed my PhD in Transportation Science at Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California, Irvine (UCI). I explored spatial and spatiotemporal statistics, and time-series analysis in my PhD dissertation through using tools like ArcGIS and analytical technique like Panel Regression Model. My PhD work was an activity space-based approach while understanding travel behaviors and activity patterns.

I demonstrated ability to efficiently utilize quantitative statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R studio). During my PhD coursework, I did time-series data analysis by using R Studio to develop ARIMA model, used traffic modeling software TransCAD in two courses (Transportation Planning Models and Transportation Systems: Planning & Forecasting) to develop Four-Stage Travel Demand Model. I completed different GIS-based project works as Graduate Student Researcher in UCI.

My bachelor thesis was based on developing a generic methodology for Traffic Impact Assessment of a mixed land use. This was one of the very first work of developing TIA method in Bangladesh and this method later adopted and practiced by many consulting firms. My master's thesis focused on development of a GIS-based model for optimum traffic flow distribution. During my four- and half-year academic teaching career back in my country Bangladesh in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET); my career objective has been set to complete higher studies related with Urban and Regional Planning discipline focusing on Transportation Planning.
