Academic Biography

Dr. Sarwar Jahan was a Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at BUET and retired from his job there in July, 2017. Dr. Sarwar Jahan served as Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, and Director of the Center for Regional Development Studies at BUET between 2000 and 2010.

Dr. Sarwar Jahan received his Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA in 1987. He has thirty five years of experience in teaching, research and consultancy. In addition to teaching he worked as consultant in various projects sponsored by national and international agencies. Dr. Jahan has more than forty research publications in national and international Journals and Proceedings. He also edited two books on urban planning and is co-author of a book published by the World Bank.
